Trial & Refund Policy

This is working draft v0.1, prepared 18 July 2026 and published for transparency. The refund terms below are a proposal, not a promise in force; open points are marked [OWNER DECISION] or [TO BE COMPLETED WITH COUNSEL].

Current status: test mode, no real charges
As of this draft, checkout on confyro.com runs in Stripe test mode. The payment links cannot charge a real card, and no real charges are possible yet. Until live payments switch on, no money changes hands, so there is nothing to refund; this page describes how trials work today and what the refund policy is proposed to be once payments go live.
Trials
Every edition offers a free trial: 7 days, except Business, which gets 20 days. Trials are capped at 15 checks. A trial license works exactly like a paid one — machine-bound, activated with your key, refreshed automatically — and the product is the full product, on your own server.
When a trial ends
Whether a trial converts into a paid subscription automatically or simply expires depends on how checkout is configured [OWNER DECISION: confirm the Stripe trial behavior and state it here in one sentence]. What is fixed either way: if no subscription is active after your trial, the license stops refreshing and expires, new checks are blocked, and everything already on your server — including every report you generated — remains yours and remains readable.
Proposed refund policy [OWNER DECISION]
The following is the policy we intend to adopt when live payments switch on. It is marked as a proposal because it has not been finalized:
- 14-day money-back on your first purchase. If you are not satisfied, email us within 14 days of your first payment (monthly or annual) and we refund that payment in full.
- Top-up packs are non-refundable and are not prorated — in exchange, they never expire.
- After the 14-day window, no prorated refunds: cancelling stops future charges, and your license runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds would go back through Stripe to the original payment method. After a refund, the refunded license stops refreshing and expires; as always, expiry only blocks new checks — your data and reports stay with you.
Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time — via the Stripe-hosted billing page linked from your receipt, or by emailing hello@confyro.com. Cancelling stops future charges; your license keeps working until the end of the paid period. After that, the license expires, and after a 14-day grace period the software blocks new checks. Existing reports remain readable, and nothing is deleted from your server — we could not delete anything there if we tried.
Top-up packs
Monthly included checks reset each billing period. Top-up packs never expire and sit on top of your monthly allowance. Under the proposed policy above, top-up purchases are non-refundable and not prorated [OWNER DECISION].
